Leçon 8
Double 'L'----- ye
Eg. Travailler----- tra-vye-yay [all 'r's are supposed to be pronounced the French way]
'L' is pronounced in the usual way.
y----- yee
Eg. J'y----- Zhee
ç----- ('s' sound instead of normal 'k' sound)
Eg. Français instead of Cadeau
Français----- fron-sais (last 's' is silent, just make sure the 'air' sound is there)
Cadeau----- Kah-doh
The 'ç' sound is similar to 'ce' & 'ci', both starting with the 's' sound. Therefore, 'ç' is only used with the other vowels, mostly 'a'.
Eg. Ça----- sah
Take note of this pronunciation because it'll affect the conjugaison of some words which I'll be teaching much later.
When there's 1 's' in a word, pronounce it in the vision way. (only for certain words)
When there are 2 's's, pronounce it in the normal way.
Eg. intéressant----- een-te-ress-on
r----- (h + r sound)
This is found only in the French language.
œ (which is basically oe)-----er sound ('r' is silent)
Eg. Sœur-----ser
coeur-----ker
Just a reminder
a-----ah not ay or eh
Common mispronunciation
Eg. acheter-----ah-chay-te notash-te
I'm still figuring these out. Heheh. (They sound similar to the normal pronunciations though xD)
